Exam season brings an added layer of stress for visually impaired students - finding reliable scribes.   At Lit the Light, we understand these hardships and strive to be the solution. Through our network of dedicated volunteers, we've supported over 5,000 students by arranging reliable scribes for various exams. Our goal is to empower visually impaired students by making scribing services accessible and stress-free, allowing them to focus on achieving their academic goals. 

 Imagine a world experienced solely through sound. For visually challenged children, education presents unique challenges. Braille literacy only extends to a certain age, leaving a gap in accessible learning materials for high school and university students. Lit the Light steps in, acting as a bridge through audiobooks.

Volunteers record a variety of materials, from textbooks and exam prep guides to magazines and stories. 

 At Lit the Light, we understand the transformative power of audiobooks for visually challenged students. Unlike bulky Braille volumes, audiobooks offer a convenient and accessible way to learn independently. Our dedicated team of volunteers, spanning across continents (US, UK, Bahrain/Middle East, and India), record a wide variety of materials in Tamil, English, and even English with explanations in Tamil. 

 Visually challenged individuals face unique hurdles in the job market. Lit the Light bridges this gap with comprehensive career assistance programs. We help you craft impactful resumes that highlight your skills and experience, along with offering mock interview sessions to build confidence and refine your interview techniques. Our dedicated volunteers also provide valuable guidance on where to find suitable positions and the intricacies of job applications. 

 At Lit the Light, we believe talent knows no boundaries. From captivating singers and musicians to graceful dancers and skilled athletes, we celebrate a diverse range of talents. Whether it's team sports like cricket or volleyball, or individual disciplines like Judo or Karate, we recognize and nurture these exceptional abilities.
